I got to teach a 3 day holiday course, showing some high school students how to program in Unity with C#. It sounds nice written like that, but in reality I had to deal with students who had never seen programming or Unity before, ones who could already program in 3 different languages and knew Unity, and everything in between.
Teenagers and adolescents are hard to teach if they haven’t learnt how to do things under their own steam. Sometimes learning programming once you’re mature enough to be considered an adult is a very good thing!
I also realised not many students knew how to google answers, or even find an online dictionary to help them out. You don’t need to know how to spell, but you definitely need to find sources to correct your mistakes.
No more teaching for a while! It’s time to focus on finding a job.
